Old Mutual Iwyze- provided me with a very painful claim experience

Out of frustration, wrote to Old Mutual Iwyze cancelling my policy. In the email I provided the reasons I wanted to cancel. To my surprise, a quick response was provided for the first time. The lady was happy to cancel my policy wanting me to decide I wanted to cancel immediately or in 30 days. Clearly these people don't value my business. No care or empathy towards the unfair treatment I have been receiving in my claim.

I wanted to cancel my old Mutual Iwyze policy. And cancel the ongoing claim.

This follow as a results of a poor and painful experience of claims I have been going through from the start. This is despite the fact that I have had to pay R15600 excess for a quote that is somewhat R20000, thinking that old Mutual Iwyze I can rely on and I will go through a smooth claims process without suffering the way I have been suffering.

Clearly old Mutual Iwyze really doesn't value my business. From the start my claim has been a hassle. It was first put on the 30 of April or even before that if I'm not mistaken. The people were not helpful and showed no care and empathy. My car was severely hit by a 3rd party. I wasn't assisted anyway to claim from the other person despite my insurance has a 3rd party cover/ legal assistance. Or even having someone to explain the options. Being a new car insurance owner that I am.. the insurer also rejected other damages that resulted in an accident because of my statement despite the fact that I'm not articulated and English is not my first language. My claim was approved and a repairer was appointed without any other quotes being presented or even other options. Trusted the insurer again thinking they appointed the best repairer. The repairer asked for down payment for excess half the R15600. I was off the impression that they will be ordering the supplies they will be needing. I paid the amount on the 7th June. They book my car in on the 31/07/2023. Took the car in and asked when the vehicle is expected to be done . The people didn't wanna give me an eta despite that I tell them I wanna make an arrangement for my traveling and taking my granny and child at their hospital and school visits. So I need to know how long my other arrangement should be arranged for as car hire wasnt included in my cover. They keep saying that my insurance needs to authorize things. My question how was my vehicle taken in without having finalised everything. The worse they say the cutting of the part that was gonna be used was rejected and I must wait first for the insurance to authorize and they will still have to get the part from the OE. I have to suffer as a result of such incompetence despite paying my deposit timeously and my livelihood impacted so wrongly by not having my car. They still don't wanna advise when I should expect the repairs to be done.

I'm gonna be in a situation where I lose my job because my drivable car was taken in before finalizing everything that was gonna be needed to fix. And people don't wanna tell when it should expected to be done. And my insurance of which I entrusted doesn't wanna help me.
