Old Mutual Cap Cover does not pay out

It pays the gap between what your medical aid covers and what hospitals and specialists charge". The truth is that the company is a nightmare to deal with - call backs do not happen, repeated requests for more and more documentation, then rejection on flimsy grounds. I was informed that they do not pay out above the minimum prescribed benefit. The reason you have gap cover is because doctors and hospitals charge over the minimum prescribed benefit limit. Which means that Old Mutual do not pay out.
