Iwyze, subsidiary of Old Mutual Insure uses a blur footage that does not identify my car to reject a claim
I have been insured with Old Mutual Insure(Iwyze) for a year without giving any issues and always up to date with my premiums. Last month I hit a pavement and my tyres get damaged and all of a sudden I get investigated like a ********. My bank accounts statements including credit cards were requested, beacon and billings from my cellphone network provider, Google timeline, affidavit to access my car diagnostics, interviews of my whereabouts for the whole day and witnesses were all requested and I cooperated and provided all immediately. After a month the claim was rejected with claims that I was over speeding, according to an alleged footage from a fuel station across the road. Firstly they admitted this footage shows the side of all the cars passing and all are not clear what type of car it is as it was dark. There are also no car registrations on this alleged footage according to their admission. Secondly how do you determine on a footage the speed any car is driving with ? Thirdly the investigator, Mr Joe Masilela, picked up his own spot rather than the one I showed him as the incident scene. Finally I have been asking for this footage and they are not sharing it with me. One wonders what are all these intensions from such a reputable company like Old Mutual.
They can be rest assured I'm taking this one to court with costs !
