Iwyze Insurance - stay away

I claimed for hail damage from storm caused to my house. Claim was rejected for reason "maintenance-related damage". A hailstorm (natural disaster) hit our area and damaged the roof. All neighbours also sustained damages and were paid out. The skylights has holes in it caused by the hail. Water damage to ceilings in my house due to the hail that accumulated on the roof making a thick blanket and then started to leak into my house (sink roof). My roof did not leak before the hailstorm.

Reviewer Update
Thank you for your reply, which unfortunately demonstrates that no meaningful effort has been made to resolve this matter. Had you taken the time to properly review my complaint and engaged with the individuals I spoke to telephonically, you would have realized that the offer I received—R5000 for all four skylights—is unreasonable and unacceptable.I forwarded this matter to the claims review department on 31 December 2025, and the automatic reply confirmed that I would receive feedback within 5 to 7 working days. To date, no one has contacted me, which is yet another promise from Iwyze that has not been honored.Furthermore, maintenance was carried out on the roof early last year, yet the claim was rejected on the grounds of “maintenance not done.” This reasoning is factually incorrect and raises serious concerns about the integrity of the claims process. The principle of insurance is to restore the policyholder to the position they were in before the loss. In this case, Iwyze has failed to uphold that commitment, leaving me with the impression that the company is taking a dishonest route to avoid paying a valid claim.I expect this matter to be addressed urgently and transparently, with a fair resolution provided without further delay.
