Iwyze disappointment

My car was damaged and I submitted a claim for repair I myself phoned for parts so that I could give an estimate of how much it would cost to repair the vehicle. Old mutual them said I should go to a local panel beating shop which I did and their qoute was R13708.72 which the panelbeating shop then submitted to Old mutual. I then opted for a cash payment so that I could take the vehicle to a preferred panel shop and all of a sudden an assesser from old mutual has said according to him the vehicle can be repaired for R8 748.21 and that the excess would be deducted from that which is R3500 and the amount they would pay out is R5 248.21. This is unacceptable other insurance companies work according to the qoute obtained from a panel beating shop that they prefer, not a qoute from an assessor that hasn't even been out to look at the car and the amount old mutual wants to pay out is not even enough to cover the replacement parts. I can further go get another 2 more quotes and each of them will be in the range of R12 000 to R13 000. I'm not disputing the excess amount by all means deduct the R3500 by the qoute I went and got which is R13708.72 and pay me the balance because if i had opted to repair the car at that panel shop they would not accept R8 748.21 to repair the vehicle this feels like day light ******* and I suggest you get it sorted out or i will take it further.

I phoned the assessor and this is what's going on I asked them how they were able to come up with that qoute of R8 748.21 and was told that they phoned another panel beating shop and that's the amount they came up with so I asked them who is the panel shop and where is the qoute? Old mutual told me that it was a telephonic conversation and they didn't have the qoute so i asked which company did the phone to get the qoute and they told me and gave me the number for the place that gave them a qoute and told me to speak to a certain individual. I tried the number which is in Richard's bay and the number doesnt exist so I googled the business which is in empangeni and phoned them I asked the guy that answered if I could speak to the person old mutual referred me to and he said no one by that name works there. I further asked if he had got a call from anyone at old mutual and he said no and I also asked about the number that old mutual sent to me and he said that was an old number hasn't been used in a very long time... I phoned old mutual back told them about what happened and he said I must send a report to them saying what I was unhappy about which I did. I then phoned the panel beating shop that old mutual apparently got the qoute from of R8 748.21 and asked if they had received a call from old mutual giving them the claim number he said no he hadn't and that it could have been a call which hadn't been in the system so I said alright no problem can I get pricing and he said yes no problem and I asked about the head light which he gave me a price for and I also asked him about the grill and was told he didn't even have a listing for that part? So how can old mutual get a qoute from a company when they dont even have a listing for a part? How ***** is this? Why send me to a panel beating shop that qouted R13 708.72 and then "work out" a qoute on their own and go according to that. I've tried to phone back the assessor who told me he would reply right away to the email about 6 times and now it's a silent call? I have two vehicles insured by iwyze home contents and jewellery and this is the first claim I've made and this is the service I get? Not one phone call has been made to me and I'm still driving with the vehicle that has broken parts on it. Are you going to be responsible for what happens if a traffic official pulls me over? This happened mid December and its mid January and I'm still waiting for this to be sorted out

16th of Jan and still haven't received a call from Iwyze. Do you care about your customers. It's raining in my area and water is getting in the headlight if anything else gets damaged due to your lack of service you'll be sure to know about it
