Invalidating claim for no reason
<p>in April 2016 our garage door broke due to the wires snapping. This looked like wear and tear to us and we called our trusty iWYZE insurance broker knowing that we will be in good hands. They sent an assessor over and in his professional opinion ,the cause was water damage due to recent rains. iWYZE sent another assessor to which i agreed to in good faith. I took more time of work and met the assessor. It soon became clear to me that iWYZE was looking for a reason to invalidate a valid claim. </p> <p> </p> <p>While speakign to Charles Ndaba I asked him what is his decision and to please let me know in a timely manner. He sends me a rejection letter a month later. On the letter it states the following " During our validation of your claim, we established that no damage to the garage door that was caused by any insured peril. On</p> <p>" During our validation of your claim, we established that no damage to the garage door that was caused by any insured peril. On inspection it was found water damaged the door over a period of time"</p> <p> </p> <p>On the same letter it states the following " </p> <p>BUILDING COVER INCLUDES</p> <p> </p> <p>LOSS OR DAMAGE CAUSED BY COVERED EVENTS</p> <p>2.1 iWYZE compensates for loss or damage caused to the Private Residence by the following Covered Events.</p> <p>c) Storm, flood, wind, water, hail or snow, except for loss or damage caused by or to any of the following:</p> <p>• Deterioration, wear and tear or any gradual operating cause;"</p> <p> </p> <p>It appears that I am covered. Avoid this company like the plague ladies and gentlemen. The service level went down the drain since they took over from FnB</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
