I WYZE Just Plays Defence on Claims

If you're looking for a company with an inexhaustible list of excuses/fabrications to reject a claim, look no further than I WYZE. If you request a call-back from Claims Dept., or a copy of the assessor's written evaluation. you are hoping against hope. If you expect a courteous reply to a query, be prepared for sarcasm as they double down on their fabrications. Their management of my claim was an absolute shocker. My house was built and approved by the municipal inspectors in 1976 and withstood everything that nature threw at it for 43 years. Maintenance was up-to-date. In April 2019, it suffered storm damage. IWYZE rejected the claim citing new building national regulations, certain specifications for tiling that did not exist in 1983, poor workmanship, and extreme weather changes. I WYZE indicates that they do not compensate for fences that are NOT made of concrete or steel. Ironically, mine were made of concrete, but IWYZE refused compensation. IWYZE has difficulty in understanding their own language in policy documents. Without the assessor's written evaluation and umpteen requests for it, I have nothing to go on. IWYZE closed their books, but still action my monthly debit order. A neighbour had similar damage, but his insurer acted differently. I truly regret changing to I WYZE. They simply play a superb game of defence, when you claim. I called 7 times, and on each occasion I spoke to 7 different employees. Scandalous!

I exercised my right to escalate the complaint, because I am convinced that your rejection of my storm damage claims was arbitrary and unilateral. IWYZE was both judge and jury in the event. The caller simply informed me of the rejection by telephone and that, as far as IWYZE was concerned, was the end of the matter. I requested the name of the employee, and was told that company policy forbade the practice of revealing surnames. I did not receive a copy of the assessor's written evaluation. I can only infer that there was something in the evaluation that IWYZE did not want to share with the customer. I am not surprised that IWYZE featured 4th on the list of the the most complained about companies in the Ombudsman's 2018 annual report. 636 complaints to the Office of the Ombudsman in 2018 alone is cause for alarm.
