False Advertising

I recently responded to an advert flighted on the television airwaves by OLD MUTUAL – Iwyze, similar to that is flighted by OUTSURANCE on the television. In the advert they claim that if they cannot better what you are currently paying on your car insurance, they commit to paying you R1700, if you had been claim-free for more than three (3) years with your current insurance company. I subsequently sent–off the SMS requesting a callback. Promptly one of their sales-agents called, with whom I spent the best part of half an hour on the phone with. I could however not commit to anything on the phone at the time, as I had to compare like-for-like. I requested the quote to be sent to me via e-mail. I attached my Current Insurance Schedule to a mail and duly asked the agent, to either MATCH OR BETTER the premium I was currently paying. Needless to say, to this day, three (3) weeks later, that after a numerous mails and messages, which were never returned, I am still none the wiser and feel that I have no other option, but to escalate the matter. I am disappointed with this bad service, as it is contrary to what OLD MUTUAL – Iwyze television adverts promises. I am of the opinion that it constitutes “False Advertising”. I need Senior Management to remedy this situation, as I am now forced to follow this route.
