Car insurance

They literally fight over you on the call center when they want you in. Sure they will offer a great competitive offer (car insurance) but my disappointment came last month when I put in a claim for a lost key. The call center agent didn't give me a hassle or ask questions other than HOW,WHEN,WHERE and told me I'll get the cash claim in a few days, which was so shocking. But it dawned on me that I didn't ask how much was the payout gonna be(I realized it's probably in my contract anyway that's why It wasn't mentioned) so that means it doesn't matter if your car keys are gonna be expensive or cheap..every client gets the same payout? I went and did a quotation at the dealer and at another panel beater place and the third I didn't go coz even with the description of the key(key less start) that place couldn't estimate they wanted my vehicle for an hour's assessment before giving a quote so I didn't move forward there. Now what I realized was the lost key payout was probably 40% of the total cost to replace the key. Anyway it's in the contract so nothing I can do there, but now in the same month I get an EMAIL stating an increase on the excess amount by like R500-R1000 I don't recall but I never disputed that now when next I get another EMAIL that states an upcoming increase on the PREMIUM I immediately sent a call-back request and I asked them why am i getting a premium increase just after a claims payout? And im almost due for a premium review actually to decrease my premium (almost 1yr) and the very kind agent tells me the whole pitch of inflation and its a must on ALL client. So i say I'm putting in my cancelation notice as of today (a week or so before the next debit). The agent says he will speak to the manager and try see what they can do for me, next day he calls back and says they agreed to a slight decrease on the increase (I know) but thing is it still was gonna be an increase coz it was still gonna change my premium to a higher amount than current. I said that's not good enough, I would rather we don't have an increase or decrease and just remain on the current premium, there was more discussion with the manager and ultimately they wanted to add a few Rands to Mt premium so I also went ahead with my cancelation notice which meant the coming debit order will be LESS as a pro rata coz they won't be covering me a full month (a save for me). Luckily another insurer called and offered me a great deal and agreed to commence at a convenient time so there's no uncovered period on my part technically.
