Bad service from Iwyze insurance.

I used to think Iwyze was the best insurance. I even referred sum of my friends. Because I trusted them so much I never read all my documents properly. The initial contract was as per our agreement with them. As years went by, my premium was increasing together with my excess. I never noticed that the excess was also increasing because the letter was only talking about the premium increment. On March I had an accident. That’s when lots of things started to unfold. I found that my excess is higher than the initial agreement. In the beginning I was paying R1100 with excess of R2700. Now I’m paying R1850 with excess of R3900 for the car that is aging. When I make a claim, I told them I can’t be paying for that much excess because it was not part of the agreement and I said the damages would be less than R10000. They told me from the feedback that they got from the assessor the damage cost R47000. I then asked them to subtract their excess and deposit the rest of the money to my account so that I can get my own penalbeater. They told me they can’t pay me according to their rates. As an insurance they get hire rates than when I get my own quotation. We then agreed that I will go and get my own qoute. On a Friday I received a call to say my claim was authorized. I was shocked cause I was still in a process to get my own qoute. The told me the cost on their new qoute is R5900 they will subtract R4900 and deposit the rest to my account. We did not reach an agreement, they told me to continue and get my own qoute. On Saturday morning I received a call from the panelbeater saying he is coming to collect my car for repairs. I asked him if whoever sent him has given him the details of the curtesy car and where was he going to get his payment from because I did not have the money. I called Iwyze twice and they told me to proceed with my qoute. I submitted to them and they telling me that they can’t pay according to my rates, they have to pay according to their rates. This is quite confusing because in the beginning they refused to pay according to their rates. I’m stuck with a damaged car. When I pay for insurance it’s because I knew it’s difficult to save money for fixing the car. I wasted my petrol and my time trying to get the qoute and now they tell me a different story.
