ASSISTANCE - ROAD SIDE OR HOME SIDE
I am really giving up on IWYZE. In the past 3 months I think this is also my 3rd complaint regarding their services and policies. Around 5:20 this morning as I was ready to leave my home and come to work I encountered a problem whereby my car doors could not open with the remote control. This is a car which is only 3 years old. I changed the remote and used the spare one but the problem still continued. Strange enough the boot could open but the 4 doors could not. At this stage I was now panicking because I did not know what he problem was therefore I called the number that is on my license disk got through to home insurance issues who then transferred me to the road side assistance department. A lady by the name of Joe Pretorius answered and asked me what the issue was, I told her, she was not sue or her facts and had to confirm with somebody regarding the solution on my problem, after waiting for a long time she comes back and says my issue is not related to road side assistance therefore IWYZE cannot help me also because my policy does not cover logged doors, it only covers the opening of the door if my keys were logged inside. I explained to her that the remote opens the boot only but not any of the other 4 side doors, by this time she was impatient and started to get rude and emphasized that my issue is not covered by my policy, I would have to get a technician who Whom I would have to pay to come to my home and check what the issue was. I told her that I do not know any technician therefore where I start, she paused me again and said she would get me a number of one that I could call. She came back with the name and number, I called this person nut the number she gave me belonged to somebody else. I then called IWYZE back and got thorough to 3 other different people. One of them was not even sure of what the process is regarding this matters. This whole process took me about 45 minutes and more until I just gave up. I have never had this issue before therefore in my mind the car can only be opened through a remote hence my frustration. 15 minutes later a family member came out and asked me if I have tried opening the car manually, I did that and yes indeed the car opened and started, drove and got to work late but got here anyway. My question to IWYZE is couldn’t all the 3 ladies I spoke to suggest that I tried opening the door manually? Really is this not part of their customer assistance that they could have tried? I am 62 years old, I have always driven cars that open with a remote therefore opening manually has never ever happened in my life hence I could never even think of that. My other concern is in a situation like this and if the car could not be opened manually why can’t they help? Why do I have this policy? I am definitely looking somewhere else. I am tired of this poor customer service.
