Misleading Visa Service – IVISA Charged for Taiwan Visa but Only Received Arrival Cards

Public Warning Post ⚠️ TRAVEL WARNING FOR SOUTH AFRICANS – TAIWAN VISA **** USING “ONLINE VISA APPLICATION” WEBSITE - IVISA My sister and I were recently ****med by a website advertising “Taiwan Visa – Fill Out Online Application”. It looks official, appears in Google search results, and uses wording that makes you believe you are applying for a legitimate Taiwan Visa. After paying and submitting all our personal details, the company only sent us a Taiwan Arrival Card — which is free, not a visa, and does NOT allow entry into Taiwan. We travelled from Japan to Taiwan and were stopped at Immigration, denied entry, and forced to book emergency flights back to South Africa. We lost: Visa fees (±R7000) Hotel bookings Time and emotional stress The website uses misleading language such as: “Application received: We’re reviewing it” “ACTION REQUIRED: Complete your application” “Log in to your Visa account” “Your Taiwan Arrival Card is ready!” These emails look like legitimate visa‑processing communication, but they are not. They only generate the free Arrival Card. Please be careful. Taiwan does NOT issue visas through third‑party commercial sites. Only use official government visa portals. If you’re travelling soon, double‑check your visa source. I’m sharing this to prevent others from going through what we did. IVISA worked for our Japan, Malyasia and India trips but not for Taiwan.

Disappointment

I recently engaged with iVisa wishing to obtain an Australian Visa for my planned visit in December, anticipating a seamless transparent engagement. Well I started this journey in June 2025, and their AI system kept requesting to log on and complete my application which I duly did. The requested was repeatedly for bank statements which I assumed would be based on income/deposits into my account that reflect capacity. I do not leave money in my account I use money as we all know cash becomes worth less over time. As I run with an overdraft which I use to the hilt their system does not see that there are sufficient funds available to ensure I have sufficient funds to spend whilst in the country, although I am staying with family and have no accommodation expenses all my expenses will be for birding, entertainment and meals only. After wishing to obtain a refund due to non performance and being informed that there is no refund after 3 months, so I persisted and to my joy I received an appointment for the 17th November and got supp**** what I believed to be all the documents necessary for the visit, only to find out the essential document the s257A (s40) was missing and without this document the application cannot go forward. Blood pressure through the roof, I got home and emailed a manager directly at iVisa and had the documents emailed through to me that afternoon, but too late to return for processing. Having to reschedule for Friday 21st. They have only caused me stress and anxiety, Unfortunately AI systems currently do not replace the human factor and being based I am not sure where the time difference results in a message stating their available time in LA, Buenos Aires etc. When raising a question on their Chat you are told to wait for a consultant and then the chat gets terminated as you have to wait to long and a time out is imposed without chatting to anyone. Really a dismal performance.

iVisa Support ****

*** has ****med me and taken my money R3085, and their system does not work. I was applying for a Nigerian visa for business, but it does not allow me to submit. The submission button is continuously buffering.
