Beware of delivery times - not worth the discounted price.
I have ordered two hard drives from ITworkup now 8 days ago. I was informed that they need to get stock from their suppliers at ordering which is fine as I was told it will take max 2 weeks for fulfillment. I have just received notification that it will only arrive at their offices in another two weeks - not even delivered to me. This is exceptionally bad business practice by not explaining their business model and the extended delivery times in reality. I need the drives urgently and if I knew what the actual turn around time was, I would have received it already last week for R150 more per drive. Once bitten forever shy.

If you are unable to wait a few more days, we completely understand. However, please note that planning ahead can help you save money, and our listings clearly state that delivery may take up to 12-14 working days.
Thank you for your patience, and we wish you a wonderful day!

21 Nov 2024, 11:09In response to their reply above - on their website they state that stock is kept off-premise in their store - from their reply here it transpires that stock is only imported after receiving orders - their website thus giving misleading information. Knowing this at the time of buying, is critical for making the decision of purchasing from them. They can do whatever they like - but do not mislead your customers on purpose, about logisitcs that will impact on them.
I have since received the two hard drives as mentioned above from the vendor. However they were exceptionally badly packed for extremely fragile equipment - which internal mechanical hard drives are by theior very nature. The two drives were placed inside an ordinary flyer bag, each inside their flimsy shelve-type thin cardboard boxes only with a two pieces of foam rubber on the flat surfaces. There is no sideways protection inside those boxes and neither was the two boxes tied together or further stabilised - so they were able to bump against each other in transit. The one box was even open with the harddrive able to drop out of the box. The boxes themselves showed signs of mishandling. This is in stark contrast with other local vendors that overpack and oversecure everything they ship out.
I immediately sent them an email regarding the risk involved due to negligent packaging requesting their feedback on how to handle this as it is unacceptable. I received no reply, I followed up 2 days later with another email and 4 days later again with no reply. Ten days after delivery I decided to try the drives to make the best of a bad situation - the one drive is broken - making a clicking sound and preventing the PC from starting up when installed. The second one works for now - I have no way of determining latent damage that will result in a shortened lifespan.
Upon trying to use the drives, I immediately sent them a mail including a video recording of the faulty drive. I have received a generic email stating I will be contacted by one of their staff - usually within 24 hours according to their policy. This did not happen and this is now almost a week down the line with being ignored. There are no telephone numbers anywhere on their website or in their emails, neither in their domain registration. The only number - on the waybill - goes to a voicemail box, so also a dead end.
So apart from email and driving to their premises I have no way of contacting them and resolving the issues. All in all - this company cannot be trusted when anything goes wrong - their only reaction is to make glib remarks on bad reviews with ZERO addressing of the real issues.
Another point to raise - ITWorkup incentivises feedback on review platforms: In a mail immediately after delivery, they give links to the various review platforms namely Google/HelloPeter/Facebook/TrustPilot along with the promise of sending a headset worth approx. R350 with free delivery, when a screenshot of the review is sent to them. This is also ********* and I refuse to make use of the incentive.
