Ithuba's attempted theft of Lotto wallet funds

Do NOT load money into a Lotto wallet!!! Ithuba has locked me out of my lotto wallet for 6 days now. Ithuba forces players to do constant password resets, while their system doesn't work properly, & they then say one has to re-upload ID & address verification documents, but the app tells one one's documents have already been uploaded and verified when one tries to do so, making it impossible to comply. When one wants to access one's wallet, access is denied because they say one has to re-upload & have said documents verified! I have phoned Ithuba numerous times, & every agent says I must just wait a few hours, then the 'system glitch' will be rectified, but it never happens. I have a few hundred rands in my Lotto wallet, which I will most likely never see again. I suspect Ithuba is trying to ***** the money in our wallets by making it perpetually impossible for players to access their wallets!!! Play Lotto with a banking app - DON'T trust Ithuba with your money.

Thank you for raising this — we sincerely apologise for the distress and inconvenience you’ve experienced.

We want to address your concern clearly: ITHUBA does not and will never withhold or “take” player funds. All wallet balances remain securely linked to your verified National Lottery account, and no player funds can be accessed, removed, or transferred without your instruction.

We understand how extremely frustrating it is to be locked out of your wallet and repeatedly prompted to upload documents while the system indicates that your verification is already complete.

Please rest assured:

  • Your funds are safe,
  • Your documents remain securely stored.

Following the recent upgrade of the National Lottery website where we launched several new and exciting games, there is a requirement to reset your password for your own account security.

To ensure you have a seamless experience, the first time you log back into your account you will need to reset your password.

To ensure you receive your OTP on time, please enter your number in this format:

+27 followed by your cellphone number without the leading 0
 Example: +***7
Then press forgot password and follow the prompts.

This format ensures:

  • The system recognises your profile correctly
  • OTPs are delivered promptly
  • The password reset completes without error
Please try again using this format.

If you are still experiencing delays, kindly reply with your registered cellphone number, and we will assist you directly to complete your password reset.

We appreciate your patience and are committed to resolving this for you as quickly as possible.
