Mother & Son Assaulted by Ithemba Sky Mark Security Guard in Randburg Square.

Today, Friday, 23rd February 2018 at 6pm while walking past Shoprite with my 2 year old son a security man refused to let me walk past saying the mall was closed but he was letting shop rite customers and other passersby pass. I disputed his refusal to let me go past as he was not fair to let others pass and not me. When I proceeded to walk past he assaulted me and strangled me. I asked for the onlookers to call the police but they just watched as my two year old son cried and urinated on himself. I tried to defend myself but the security guard overpowered me. When he eventually let me go he wasn't bothered if I passed by or not the very area he refused for me to pass. My neck and both hands are in pain and bruised. My two year old was traumatised by the incident.

I called the police at around 6:38pm and again at 7:20pm and the police arrived close to 8pm and the security guard was off duty and they said that there was nothing they could do - the police said that I must report my case to the police station.

I am now waiting for tomorrow morning when the management is open so that I can go get the security guard's name and go to the police station to report him for assault. I thank God there were cameras.
