Unreasonable Landlords
I moved to a flat in July I paid rent and deposit then I lost my job I went to the iThemba offices to report my crisis and I was given a form to apply to move out end of August. I paid half rent In beginning of August then they locked me out of my flat and switched off my electricity ALL my groceries expired. end of August I went to pay the rest of the rent and move out but they refused to let my furniture go because I signed a contract and apparently they need to get a sub-tenant first before letting my things go. on the 10th of September I got a call from a friend and he informed me that my furniture and clothes are being taken out of my flat this was done without any notification and till this day I haven't been contacted. I don't understand why they made me fill out a form as if they were going to let me go then when the time came they refused even after explaining that I can not AFFORD rent due to unemployment they still insisted that I stay there and pay. currently they have my clothes and furniture but they DON'T communicate or say anything. apparently they went in my flat and touched my things without my permission I am now nervous because I might find that they stole or broke my things. I really need my things.
