******** PRACTICE/TERRIBLE SERVICE/UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF: REQUEST FOR DIRECTORS CONTACT DETAILS OR RIAN REYNEKE

I am a tenant at Ithemba Properties. I have never been treated with such disrespect in my life by iThemba staff!!! This past weekend once again I had an altercation with the Assistant Manager at Eyethu House!!! I refuse to be treated like an imbecile because I know my rights and I will do whatever it takes to make sure that I am treated with respect and equality as a citizen of this country regardless of demographics!

The reason why so many people are moving out of that flat is because of how the staff mistreat the tenants and always get away with it. When you report them to management there are never consequences for their actions which is why I will be approaching the appropriate channel (Gauteng Rental Housing Tribunal) to deal with my matter!

Firstly one of the staff members committed an ******** act by coming to my apartment late at night, invading my private space, embarrassing me in front of my two friends that were over at my flat that time (who are witnesses) and changing the locks when I had made a verbal payment arrangement after paying most of the money I owed just because I did not have in writing.

Secondly, when I moved in to the flat in May as a new tenant, the apartment was never inspected, reason being there were and still are pins on the wall from the previous tenant, the flat was never painted, the kitchen cupboards have rusted (corroded) and I notified the assistant building manager and even filled in several complaint forms about all this, which I have proof of.

Thirdly, the most recent incident which was this past weekend (3rd of September), when they refused to let me take my bed to my apartment which was being dropped off by my cousin which resulted into me approaching the building manager whom approved that I could take my bed inside after being humiliated and insulted by the assistant building manager!

There are legal and appropriate ways of dealing with tenants and if such things persist Ithemba Properties will unfortunately continue to lose tenants.
