Hi
I have a complaint about a guard.
He goes by the name Tshabalala. On Friday evening I simply requested him to take down a number plate in which my friends and I we were about to travel in case something happens as we know the safety of women in this country is not secure...
To which he refused and I let it go as it might not be in his job scope, although if something were to happen they’d have question him first as a representative of iThemba and security.
The next day on Saturday in a lift he started a conversation with me to which I did not engage up until he insinuated that the reason he said no to my request the previous evening was because we were acting as “uMagosha” which means ********** in English.
Justifying if anything were to happen to us it would be okay as we were acting as something other than his societal norms. One of his colleagues even apologized for him so we know he is wrong! Immediately!
It’s disgusting and seeing him everyday will be uncomfortable for me as a tenant who pays rent on time even through lockdown. I doubt iThemba would want to associate themselves with someone of this nature. He regards women lives as low and I don’t feel safe for him to be in a position of authority but chooses when to be security.
He should leave.
Tell me what your way forward is and I hope it’ll be one that makes us feel safe in South Africa today.
Best regards,
