RENTAL DEPOSIT - WHERE IS MY INTEREST OVER 2YRS?

I have been at a war over my RENTAL DEPOSIT since i put in a notice to vacate on the 31st of Dec. 1st - to be paid as per my contract (within 7 working days) and they did which i am pleased with that. I got charged R400 for a light dirty wall (no chips & cracks etc - their apartment was in an immaculate condition, clean, just like i found it). Which i think is **************** because they should paint in any case when a new tenant comes, no stress its just R400 so i let it go. Now my issue - on the 25th of Jan, i requested SALOME get me a statement from the Trust Account regarding my Deposit that over 2yrs should have accumulated interest (RENTAL HOUSING ACT), I AM ENTITLED TO A COPY OF THE STATEMENT. You paid over my deposit, without interest, minus the R400 charged for paint. WHERE IS MY INTEREST ITHEMBA....you guys are a bunch of ******. This goes to show that you have probably ripped quite a lot of people off their interest because they are not aware that they are entitled BY LAW to be shown the interest on the rental deposits. Unfortunately for you, you are dealing with someone who is very well versed on their rights as a tenant.

Now, If i dont get my statement by close of business MONDAY....i am getting an attorney involved.
