NON WATER SUPPLY
I've been staying in Metropolitan for 6 months now, this is the 6th month and I'm sure if I were to calculate the days I was with no water in this building it might be 4 months combined as for now I've been with no water in my unit for 2 months exactly from the 9th February 2024. When we moved here the Property Manager was a guy named Bonani but he has since moved to another building, we have complained to him early in October when we moved here about the water issue, he worked tirelessly to ensure the water was restored, somewhere mid November the problem started again, December again, we reported the matter to Akhona and Thabo, they have failed the matter continued in January then early February the water stopped coming into our unit, surprisingly every month iThemba Property Management has got the audacity to sent me a rent statement with water charged in the unit where as we don't have water in the unit from 9th February to date, when you complain they pretend to be hands on your matter but when you leave their offices I'm sure they say "this one is sick we can't entertain him over other tenants". The municipality started having water pressure issues in the area or in the City Of Joburg now they have a stepladder to climb or a tree to hide behind and I always tell them that our matter started long before the municipal issues and they must attend to our matter separately but they hardly listen. We suggested we be moved to another unit because other units don't have water maybe during the day and late at night there is water but in our case there is nothing at all from 9 February completely to date and they claim it's municipal matters. The matter was reported to Mmakoma, Akhona and later their Manager Kamogelo. They are all aware of the matter but doing so little and defending each other when you go to them to complain they cover for each other at the expenses of paying clients, I'm in a unit with no water for 2 months now and I'm being sent water bill monthly to settle when you complain In their useless complaints email that reads *** the response you get is that" you have reported that the water was partially not there and your liable for water payment " which water does one have to pay for while you know you never had water for 2 months and it shows me that these people don't actually do meter water reading physically because if they were doing that physically they were supposed to pick up that something is wrong here, why would a unit have no water reading for 2 months while there are tenants in it, so they just look at how many tenants are in a unit and charge. If there is anyone planning to love to that property company think twice, no one is held accountable there the property managers do as they please and their portfolio manager defends them. They don't want to move us to another unit as to why we don't know because our move was approved about a week ago but if your to raise this with their Manager you will get the same treatment from the manager it's like she's their defence line, I understand a manager should defend their employees but not at the expenses of paying clients and if I was getting water supply and billed accordingly they wouldn't even be receiving my emails, calls or whatsaps cos they will be providing services to me and I'll be paying rent that's all and that's how the relationship between a tenant and a landlord should be, the other pays rent and the other renders services. Now it's like I'm staying in a RDP house I need to burn tyre's and block roads to get water and that's not the case, I'm paying a lot of money for that unit for me to be running after adults to render services and as for their customer care it's sooooo useless you sent an email to them they forward it to the manager, they don't call you to get your side of the story, no they call their employees, listen to them and take a decision in their favor and respond to u with nonsensical decisions.
Our Portfolio Manager has already been in contact with you to arrange for a transfer to a different unit, so this has now been resolved. The entire Johannesburg area currently has low pressure water issues and some units are affected more than others.
Many Thanks,
Ithemba Property
