Manipulated into signing unfavorable lease(poor service)

Good Day

We had raised a complaint previously with no help.

We just moved in on the 31 October 2020 and we would like to cancel the lease and would like to find out of any costs for canceling.

We were mislead of the price of the flat and the size of the flat. Your agents gave us incorrect information and as such we paid for and signed a lease for an incorrect unit. On the day when we moved in we were shocked by this. Most of our stuff was not fitting. We had to personally look for extra storage space as your agents were no where to be found to fix their mess. We were then told that we would have to upgrade to a larger unit at an additional cost. Once again your agents said that they would top up the payment since this was their mess however they never did. They promised to help us move to the larger unit and they never did. We feel that we were forced into taking the larger unit because we had exhausted our funds which we had allocated to moving. We asked about canceling the lease on the Monday 1 November 2020 and we were informed that we would have to vacate immediately. At the time we were in no position to find a new place as it was a Sunday and Monday we had to go to work and also have a one year old baby to look after. So we were either going to be homeless or had to sign the new lease and we did the latter because we had no choice. We were forced into it by the utter incompetence of the agents.

On those grounds we would like to cancel the lease without incurring any penalties because we were mislead from the onset and were made to sign a lease under unfair and unfavorable circumstances. As such we will not be able to afford and did not budget to pay R3800, we were forced into signing the lease as if we did not, we were going to be homeless. another thing we were mislead of is the parking price as we were told it will cost R400 only to find out after moving in and signing the contract that it’s costs R500 that is also was not communicated to us. We ask that you view and respond to this matter with the urgency that it deserves.

Thank you.
