It's a mess😩

Yhoo guys-IThemba (Diamond) 😂

-This is the 6th day with out electricity, yes it's City Power🙄 but honestly we don't rent from City Power (and this has been going on for years apparently if iThemba wanted to fix this, have a back power they would have and Oh!! this happens every month so basically you should prepare yourself for a week of dark city) you should see the last line when sending power outage updates "City Power Apologizes for any inconvenience caused, Your building management team"🚮 😂😂 -Units have drywalls so if your neighbors are having al"it"you can literally be their cheer leader from the other side just to encourage the guy ukuthi "amahashe agijime 🐎💦" so y'all can go back to sleep 😭😭😭

-their shower drains smells like sewer, it like when you flush everything goes to the shower drain🤮🤢.

-There is this secu3I think it's Thandi the attitude is on another level it's like she's the landlord -" our job is to keep you safe and not open for you" but you are a new tenant with no biometrics-you work the office close when you comeback 🤔😭😭

-The llfts it's like you are waiting for a bus😂😂thats if they work, if it eventually comes it's either it won't open when it gets to your floor some please have learnt how to force it open or it will take a good 45 seconds to open, if you can't open or doesn't, don't worry it will "drop" you on the next stop😂😂, you decide to take the stair coz you can't deal with the lifts babes you are more than welcome but you will find pee here and there, be careful mzalwane the waters of Jordan might sweep you off😭😭.

You request to be transfered to another building honey you will be charged transfer fee of R750, understandably so🤷🏽♀️ but wait for it...youbwill again be penalized a one months rent as though you are terminating your lease, plus pay your rent for the new unit, so it's up to you if just terminate or transfer the cost is the same after all...guys kuningi and the agents will send you texts after hours...story for another day!!! I will be back shame or have a story time on Tiktok😂😂😂

Dear Unathi,

We apologize for the electricity matter that has been effecting The Diamond. This issue has not only impacted the building, but it has also effected some of the surrounding stores. City Power is still having difficulties with the power grid that supplies electricity for your building.

We at Ithemba have worked on an alternative plan to get a generator to power up the building for a minimum of at least 2 hours, at times the generator can only be powered for a couple of hours because of the need to refill it with the necessary fuel to keep the power on as well as to keep the generator going. This is a matter that will be fully resolved once City Power has assisted with the grid.

In relation to the noise cause by the neighbors. We always encourage neighbors to keep their noise level at a minimum as per our house rules, but in order to maintain a peaceful environment kindly inform us when you have a noise complaint via our securities who are there 24/7 or by contacting your building manager. These available channels of aid will be able to respectfully remind those that are causing commotion to be mindful of neighboring units.

Unfortunately, each transfer can only be processed once the quotation for the unit you would like to transfer to has been paid. The only thing you have to pay for is the final charges from your previous unit should there be any damages that need to be repaired or any final water charges

Your grievances about our employees are noted and have been escalated internally to be addressed.

Kind Regards
Ithemba Property

Let me be clear: the noise complaints aren’t about the tenants themselves but rather your poor soundproofing the cardboard you used to separate the units.
Who in their right mind reports a mother simply disciplining her children in her own unit, or a couple being intimate in their own space? That’s not a tenant issue—it’s a building design flaw.
Your response, like many others I’ve read, lacks accountability. Instead of offering solutions, you shift blame—whether it’s onto the tenants, City Power, or Joburg Water. It’s a pattern: deflect, deny, and dismiss. And sadly, the same attitude spills over from office stuff to the security staff and the housekeepers.
The treatment makes it feel like we’re living here for free. Also, let’s address the misleading information in your response about transfer fees.

The truth is: if your lease is less than 6 months, you don’t just pay the R799 transfer fee (which I actually noted was reasonable), but also a penalty fee equal to one month’s rent on your current unit, plus rent for the new unit so you must stay in that match box for +6 months if you wanna transfer without being penalized or just terminate. As for the condition of the building—it’s disgraceful. The stairwells are filthy, often littered with urine and broken liquor bottles. I’ve never been inside a hijacked building, but The Diamond can easily pass for one. And yes, clothes get ******. When reported, the response is laughable: “If you see someone wearing your clothes, umshaye.” Imagine living somewhere you're afraid to do your own laundry.

Their elevators ngathi yistimela eyisa Pitori😏
That’s the reality at iThemba The Diamond.
