Ithemba Properties exploiting tenants

I rented a property with Ithemba Properties just before covid when covid hit I asked to move out before the lease agreement due to salary complications and deductions and they insisted that I must stay and pay in full when I get money I declined their offer because I knew the amount was going to pile and I could not afford it. For clarity . I paid all my rental fees and they took my deposit in the process. Bredell came and called me that I owe Ithemba around 4000 rands therefore I must pay them , I paid them over R6000 since year 2020 to date and they still insist that I pay them 1811.00 Rands . Please assist me

Our sincerest apologies for these occurrences. We have investigated your query and have found that this was for a lease in 2020 when you stayed with us. Unfortunately you terminated your lease prematurely and as per your signed agreement, we charged early termination fees and water fees in arrears. This was 4 years ago and have written any outstanding charges off as bad debt already. We trust that you are happy with this feedback.

All my expenses/utilities were paid off before I left . I did not cancel the contract prematurely it was because of covid break. Where did I lie
