Eyethu House Tenants’ Concerns Ignored by Building Manager
Good day I am a tenant at Eyethu House and I am extremely disappointed with the way our building manager handles tenant concerns, especially regarding visitor parking.
When I raised the issue of overnight parking, I was told there are no solutions available — not even the flexibility to park behind my visitor’s car in a safe and non-obstructive manner. Instead of providing practical assistance, the response was dismissive and left me with no reasonable option but to leave my vehicle outside overnight, which is unsafe.
I feel tenants’ needs and safety are not being taken seriously. As paying tenants, we deserve fair treatment and workable solutions, not to be dismissed without consideration.

22 Aug 2025, 10:30Dear Sicelo,
Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you experienced with parking for our visitors.
Unfortunately, Eyethu House currently does not have any available parking spaces for visitors. The single temporary parking bays that were previously used are now fully occupied. Additionally, the lower ba*****t tandem parking spaces that were requested for use on the particular night are already leased to other tenants.
The building manager has confirmed that these parking bays are allocated to existing tenants and therefore cannot be reassigned even for temporary parking
We appreciate your understanding.
Sincerely,
Ithemba Property

22 Aug 2025, 12:40Good day,
Thank you for your response. However, I must express my dissatisfaction with the outcome and the way this matter has been handled.
As a paying tenant, I expect that basic facilities such as visitor parking are taken seriously. It is not acceptable that my visitors are left stranded or inconvenienced simply because there is no provision for them. The fact that tenants and their visitors cannot be accommodated safely raises concerns about how tenant needs are being prioritized.
Your response does not propose any solution or alternative, which leaves the impression that tenants’ concerns are being dismissed rather than addressed. At the very least, I would expect Ithemba Property to:
Explore temporary arrangements for visitors (such as short-term access, rotation of bays, or use of underutilized space).
Provide a clear policy on how visitor parking is managed across all tenants to ensure fairness and consistency.
Engage tenants proactively when such facilities are no longer available, instead of leaving us to discover these issues through inconvenience.
If this matter cannot be resolved at building management level, I will have no choice but to escalate it to higher management and consider external complaint platforms.
I trust that Ithemba Property values its tenants and will treat this as an opportunity to improve both communication and service delivery.
I look forward to a concrete resolution.
