24 Feb 2026, 10:15Dear Laura,
We refer to the communication previously sent to you via our Ithemba Residents App regarding the temporary interruption affecting electricity purchases.
Please be advised that the disruption was caused by a technical fault experienced by Meter Mate’s third-party service provider, which prevented the successful processing of electricity purchase transactions. Upon identification of the issue, the matter was escalated immediately to the relevant technical support teams for urgent investigation and resolution.
We are pleased to confirm that the fault has since been rectified by the appointed technical team, and the system has been fully restored. Electricity purchases are now operating as normal.
We understand the inconvenience and frustration that service interruptions of this nature may cause. Please accept our sincere apologies for the disruption experienced. We appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation while the matter was being addressed.
Sincerely,
Ithemba Property

25 Feb 2026, 10:51Please note that the deposit timeline is not consistent with the Rental Housing Act, which clearly stipulates that a deposit must be refunded within 7 days after the lease expiry if no damages were identified, or within 14 days after repairs have been completed if there were damages — with supporting invoices provided. Please explain this to me before I go to the rental house tribunal to have you guys reassess your contract. I will also be emailing Allen regarding this matter.
