Difficulty moving out.
Tenant in Urban Olive, corner President and Goud street loft (M) room 414 for nearly 2 years we've stayed there and did not cause any issues nor did we pay rent late and I'll have you know also that we didn't have any issues regarding our stay I can say that we had a great stay I have no complains there until recently as I got retrenched and my partner's contract was also about to end to which we then explained the situation of course and unfortunately by the time we explained the situation it was around late July we were then told we can't vacate immediately as we have to serve as per rule serve a notice first and also there's an outstanding balance on our lease to which we are fully aware of and we tried to reason with your customer service and building manager by the name John that we can no longer be able to pay for this place and can we make an arrangement at least to move out and settle the remaining amount that we had on the lease so not to incurr more charges to which we were then told its impossible and on top of that because we submitted the 1st notice late we'd have to pay for the extra days and this was already at the beginning of August and we were told we'll be then now charged a daily amount of R1500 for the days we have stayed there mind you this was on the 5th of August.
Everytime we try to communicate with customer service you're given the toss around and we're being constantly sent back and forth the building manager and your customer service, your service responds whenever they feel like it and today they responded to an early notice that I had served them and the response on that email even though it wasn't my fault that whoever was tending to my ticket took their time went on to say because I submitted the notice late I'm liable to pay another R3287 as per lease agreement to which we never even renewed our previous lease when we asked to renew the lease last year we were told to just keep on paying so exactly on which lease am I actually bound by because the lease that has both our signatures only spans from Sep/October 2022 till Sep/October 2023. I had been in communication with my building manager letting him know how I intend on settling the bill and mind you I had already sent him my Proof of payment with half the amount required explaining that I'm making means to pay the remaining amount on the coming days yet he still switched off the power in my room saying that I will be evicted. When I also contact your customer service line with regards to settling the remaining amount they keep on saying we can't make that arrangement. All I want is to move out in peace so I can make way for people who'll be less admin to have stay under your apartments. We enjoyed our stay dearly and did not have any issues before that we want to move out because we can no longer afford the place.
