Deposit was not paid, my account is handed over
I had a 6 months contract with Ithemba which was ending December 2025, I send them a watsaap early December that I am moving and I also received a call from them asking how was my stay and all that, they did not pay me my deposit I have been calling them and sending emails and all that was ignored, there was 1 consultant who even suggested that how about I come to their offices and I explained that im no longer in Joburg. my concern now is that I got a call that my account is handed over im owing 3000 and something, what a bad experience please help me what can I do to take this matter further because Ithemba is not assisting

With reference to your ticket (#336429), kindly note that your formal notice of termination was officially received on 19 December 2025. In terms of the notice period requirements stipulated in your lease agreement, this constituted late notice. As a result, a penalty fee equivalent to one month’s rental was app****, in line with the agreed lease termination terms.
Please note that, as the penalty amount was equal to your deposit, the deposit could not be allocated toward covering maintenance costs and other final charges associated with the conclusion of your lease. Consequently, the outstanding balance reflects the remaining charges incurred after the application of your deposit.
For your convenience, a detailed summary of all charges was included in the final statement previously sent to you. We kindly encourage you to review this document for a full breakdown of the amounts app****.
