I stayed at Eyethu House for a year, and in December I sent a end of lease notice as my lease was coming an end at the end of January thus my notice was within a month. Upon moving I cleaned the apartment as advised by the building manager so I don't get charged, everything was working in the apartment and I was told that I will get my deposit at the end of February. On the 15th of February, I received payment of R660 from Ithemba, and I enquired via email if the payment was my refund (deposit) I was told no, my deposit will be sent at the end of February. On the 2nd of March I followed up with regards to my deposit, and I was told that it was sent on the 15th of Feb (R660). I was sent an invoice which stated that I ended my lease early so I was charged for that (that's not correct because I sent a 1 month notice). I was charged for fumigation however when I left the apartment was clean and had no roaches, I actually fumigated the apartment when I moved in as the building manager failed to fumigate after numerous requests. I am also being charged R1200 for maintenance, which I don't understand what maintenance as I left everything in good condition. I need answers and my money. I paid R3200 deposit and only getting R660, that's ridiculous and an utter insult.
