Be careful with iThemba Properties
iThemba pretends to care and seem quite understanding when there are issues in their buildings until they have to do the right thing. Lived at The Diamond for 2 different leases. After months of electricity problems, lifts not working, mold on my bedroom ceiling with windows always open and no hot water most of the time I finally moved out. The building manager blamed me for mold, imagine. Who doesn't know how mold develops. Now they have cheated me off my deposit, charged me for painting when the place was never freshly painted when I moved. Actually had to clean doors and old stains myself. Manager told me when I was moving out that I didnt make an appointment with him for inspection and I must just leave the keys with security. As a building manager I can only imagine its your job to be available on the last day of the month when people are moving in or out. Now they took 1.8k out 2.9k of my deposit. Without any explanations. Had to request invoice. Worst experience with these people. Be careful before moving to any of their buildings.

Please be advised that The Diamond has experienced significantly fewer electricity outages over the past two to three months. This improvement follows the installation of a backup generator, which was implemented in response to earlier concerns raised by residents regarding frequent power interruptions. While the process may have taken some time, we are pleased that this long-term solution is now in place to ensure greater reliability going forward.
With regard to the condition of the unit at move-in, particularly the paintwork, we would like to note that all units are thoroughly inspected before the commencement of a new lease. Unfortunately, we do not have a record of any outstanding issues related to painting at the time of your occupancy.
On the matter of mold, please understand that mold typically develops due to moisture buildup within a unit, which generally occurs during the period of occupancy. As such, remediation and related painting costs are considered the responsibility of the tenant at the time the issue arises. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused and understand how frustrating such issues can be.
Following your review, we conducted an internal review of the move-out process and were informed that, on the day of your departure, your building manager was unavailable to complete the final inspection and had advised that the keys be left with security.
