5 Months of being Ignored, Abuse of Position & Security Failure

I have been a resident at the Emerald for 3 YEARS. I moved from a bachelor to a one bedroom thinking it was an upgrade. It was the biggest mistake of my life.

Since April 2026, I have been forced to listen to loud music from two places. My neighbour who plays music loudly as he pleases and every weekend, there is loud music from the rooftop that plays until early hours of the morning. This affects my ability to work as someone who works from home. You have a strict noise policy all over the building but you only enforce it when you want to.

This neighbour is your employee / your estate agent, Deon. That is why complaints about him are always ignored. He plays loud music even after cut-off time. I have recordings to prove this. I even sent emails but they are ignored. This is favouritism and an abuse of power. He knows he is protected, that is why he continues. I have reported this issue to the building manager multiple times since April and my messages have been ignored. I have also reported to security guards on duty but they told me they cannot do anything without the orders of the building manager and apparently I "complain a lot", escalated to senior management Mr Zama with recordings, screenshots and emails and was still ignored.

I went home for a weekend and I came back to find alcohol deliberately spilled on my door and window. I sent the building manager a video of what happened and I also showed his senior. I asked security for footage and I was told that the cameras do not work.

On the 22nd of July, his senior told me he would consult with management about this issue and get back to me. It's been over a month and I have received no response, no apology, and no explanation as to why the cameras on my floor are not working and why I am being ignored .Telling a resident cameras are not working after a security incident is unacceptable .

I have had enough. I am paying for peace and safety and I am getting niether. Moving is expensive and I feeling like they are doing this deliberately to push me to move because it's easier than fixing the problem. I have done nothing wrong and they are failing on their side. This leaves me no choice but to report the matter to the housing tribunal or a body corporate.
