Terrible service, bad attitude and thievery

<p>Italianos Pizza & Pasta on the Main Road in Plumstead used to be a rustic and a laid back local pizzeria when it was part of the Borrusos family. We decided to try it out on the evening of the 8 April 2017. What was once laid back and rustic turned out to be quiet with no atmosphere and dirty/grotty. In addition, the service and attitude was absolutely shocking. The waitress was completely clueless in terms of waiting tables and appeared to be disinterested in attending to customers timeously. The place was very quiet for a Saturday night and she kept all 3 tables waiting to be graced by her presence. The pizza was edible but the salad was a dog's breakfast. When we got the bill they charged us for corkage even though the wine we brought was not opened. When we took is up with the manager/owner she refused to take it off the bill on an irrational basis that a bottle of wine was brought into the restaurant. We did not have the energy to further engage an irrational person so paid and left. For R20 the manager/owner lost 2 customers as well as our friends/colleagues, many of whom reside in the area.</p> <p>In a competitive climate where being a restauranteur can be fickle, I could be easily forgiven for thinking that the manager/owner's attitude and thievery was either due to a mental illness or that the restaurant is a front for laundering money.</p>
