What a worse experience I had with Isurgeon specialist eye clinic. This is what happened, on 25/03/2026 I was supposed to work from home however, I woke up with a reddish eye and a massive headache. The pain was too much that I couldn’t even use a phone. I reported to my manager that I am not feeling well and even if I’m working home I cannot manage to work. My manager allowed me to go and consult. I asked my wife to try to get me an appointment at Isurgeon specialist eye clinic in Edenvale of which she did and found me an appointment at 14:40 the same day. The pain was too much then I decided to see the GP first . The GP indicated that this falls under emergency and you need to see a specialist. I indicated to the GP that I managed to get an appointment but I was just feeling too much pain hence I am here. The GP gave me some pain blocks, referral letter and a sicknote dated 25/03/2026. The letter also indicated that the date to be review if the patient is not feeling better. I left the GP and went straight home and sleep. When I wake up I was feeling much better but based on historical eyes problem that I have I couldn’t cancel the appointment. I went to Isurgeon specialist eye clinic from honeydew and when I arrived they examined me and all stuff and they couldn’t find anything wrong. They even offer to do a scan relating to my operation which I did with them back in 2024 but I was afraid that my medical option might not pay and I wouldn’t have money to pay. So we didn’t do it. I didn’t request for sicknote cause I was feeling better and I was certain that I will go to work the following day. Little did I know that I will wake up even worse. I drank the pain block that the GP gave me and used the Hylo Gel that Isurgeon specialist eye clinic prescribed for me and try to sleep again. When I woke up I was still feeling dizzy. I contacted Isurgeon specialist eye clinic to request a sick note as I didn’t make it to work again and I could see that this issue seems to be serious. I requested that they extend my sick leave to 27/03/2026 as I work with a computer and the light might worsen the situation. Isurgeon specialist eye clinic refused and indicated to me that the DR didn’t see it necessary for me to be absent at work on 26/03/2026. They have a record that I did eyes operations with them and my eyes are problematic but still refused. All I was doing is to ensure that my eyes are well cured before I can go back to work. I even explained to them that my workplace requires sick note provided that I’m away from work for more than 3 days and I am not feeling well so can I please have that sicknote. They still refused. I don’t see the reason for them to do so because they have everything about me and what I’m asking was simple and I was not trying to do ***** or something I was just sick.
