Still waiting for replacement device (iPhone 6s) after 16 days

On the 5th of December, I took my iPhone 6s 128GB into the iStore at Sandton City as I had been having trouble with the battery. The battery once dropped 15% in 5 minutes. I had to basically beg the iStore to give me a loan phone while my phone was taken in and they eventually gave me an iPhone 5s 16GB CPO. The loan phone has had internment mobile data problems rendering it basically unusable away from Wi-Fi. I put up with the inconvenience of the loan phone as on the 6th of December I received an Sms that they had received my phone and an email on the 13th of December from Estie Grobler stating that they are awaiting a replacement device and the estimated time of arrival would be the 19/20 th of December.

On the 15th of December at 2:35pm I received a call from a private number which was a call to let me know that they were still waiting for a replacement device. I asked the woman who I spoke to whether they were replacing the battery or if I would be receiving a new device, she told me that apple does not perform repairs in South Africa and that I would be receiving another device but she could not confirm whether it would be a new or refurbished device but that the phone would be different to the one I sent in.

On the 20th of December, I had not been updated so I emailed support requesting an update on my phone only to be told by Dimakatso Maloka that they are still awaiting batteries from Apple but did not give me a time line as to when these batteries would arrive. From there I emailed back and asked why they were awaiting another battery when I had been told in a prior email that I would be receiving a replacement device. I also included in this email the fact that I was unhappy with the loan phone and that the woman who had called me to update me on the 15th of December had said I would receive a replacement device. I received an email back from Chantal Steyn stating that were awaiting batteries from apple and there was nothing that they could do about the delay. I then proceeded to email back stating my dissatisfaction with the service thus far and asked if they could at least provide me with a usable loan phone while I waited as they had not even provided me with a timeline of when I can expect my phone back. I was emailed back again by Chantal Steyn to say that they were awaiting parts and that Apple has advised them that there is a delay and that I should call Apple support if I would like to discuss the matter further which to me is a poor response as it does not tell me when I can expect my replacement device and does not help me with the poor-quality loan device that I was provided with.

I am truly disappointed with the service that I have received thus far. Additionally, this is not my first apple product and at the moment I own a MacBook pro 128GB (13 inch, retina, Early 2015), an iPad retina display 64GB and an iPhone 4 32GB but after this poor after sales service I have received I will be reluctant to purchase new apple products in the future.
