Rude salesperson and poor service
• I visited Cavendish istore at about 15h00 on Saturday, 30 November, 2019. • The purpose of my visit was to upgrade an existing Vodacom contract with an iPhone 7 device. • I understand that the store was very busy and I was asked to return after an hour, which was acceptable. • Upon my return, I spoke to Cheryl, who would do the upgrade on an iPhone 7 for R349. • Before she proceeded, I enquired about the instore promotion being advertised for R199. • Cheryl did not know what I was talking about and her response and manner was extremely abrupt in telling me that the advert said that stock availability is limited anyway. • I then asked if the store was sold out on that promotion, but she indicated that the Claremont store did not do ‘CPO’s’, once again very curt. • I told her that she did not know the products, to which she barked that she had been on leave. • In response to her rude replies, I snapped that she should proceed with the documentation, because I had been waiting for over an hour. • She then told me that SHE would not accept MY rude behaviour and left the floor without completing my contract. • I then demanded to speak to the manager, to which I was referred to the assistant manager, who did his best to facilitate and close the transaction. • As busy as the store was, Cheryl did not make an appearance for the duration of the period that I was there.
When I walk into a store, I do not know the product range and am well within my right to ask about any promotion being advertised. I do not expect to be barked at and treated the way the istore sales consultant did, clearly irritated by my line of questions.
I am extremely affronted by the poor service that I received at the store, purported to be at the zenith of service and technology in the sphere that they operate. I am still waiting for a reply and have yet to receive any return correspondence from them.
