Not impressed

My apple watch I bought 2016 June just switched off in Desember so I today make a booking to take it in for service... and the lady tells me i might as well throw it in the bin cause they cant repair those models? Its only a year and a half later and they cant repair a “older” model watch? I was told to just buy a new 1? I think that is ridiculous!
