No help

Last week I purchased an iPod shuffle from the istore at the V&A waterfront as a birthday present (their birthday is on the 8th of December).

After opening the box to try and load music onto the device the device couldn't be read by two separate pc's and a mac. I took the device back to the store where they eventually figured out that the cable that came with the device is faulty.

This is where I thought "ah, no problem, surely the folks at the istore will swap out the cable or the device seeing as it's brand new". Wrong! Turns out that even though I got the device less than a week ago and that the device failed to work the first time I used it, the store policy prevents them from doing either of these things. So now my brand new never before used device needs to get sent away to the service center along with the faulty cable in order for a new cable to be sourced (no clear indication of when this would be either).

This means that I will now need to go into the store(again) when a new cable is eventually sourced.

The whole experience is completely ridiculous and unacceptable for an expensive product that has never even been used. Really doing a sterling job representing the brand.
