MYISTORE overcharging for Apple products

I have been tring to buy the new Mac Book Pro 13" (and before that the new MBA and mac mini) but I seem to be hitting my head against the wall as pricing in South Africa are totally out of sync with the rest of the word. As it now stands, Apple products ar at least 15% higher than in the US or UK, without any justification. I sent a note to Apple in the US about that and hope they will give some feedback.

As for MYISTORE.CO.ZA, well their argument is: "Please note we operate in a free market economy and retailers are entitled to price their goods as they see fit. iStore aims to maximise customer value offerings by offering customers exclusive services such as in-store complimentary training, technical support, and technical setup. Unfortunately we cannot match prices." Seriously ... that's the justification for the exhorbitant pricing?

I know Apple is a premium product, but SA is comparatively a much poorer region than the US or the UK, so why have prices even higher than in first world countries? I do not understand.

I will wait for feedback from Apple USA ... and from CORE.CO.ZA.
