My 13-inch Macbook Pro Nightmare !! How Apple refused to fix my Defective laptop

The unfortuante tale you are about to read is a true story, however I wish this wasn't the case. So I got this new Macbook Pro 13 Inch 2012 last year in March 2016 and it was my most prized possession so you can imagine how well I took care of it. I rarely used it except mostly on Sundays for palying my keyboard and during the week I would opt instead to use my work laptop in order to preserve my Macbook.

Now on the 14th of june 2017, just a little over a year of having this Macbook something terrible happened. I turned on the laptop to watch something and for a moment everything seemed fine until all of a sudden the screen started pixelating then a second later the entire screen had horizontal lines all over it and I couldn't see my video anymore. At first I didn't panic because the pixelating had happened a few times before during the year but the picture would always come back to normal after a few seconds. Unfortunately this time, this was not the case. Before I could do anything the lines diappeared and the screen went blank as if I had turned off the Macbook but the keyboard was still lighting up so I figured the laptop was still on and runnng just fine except the screen

to cut a long story short I immediately contacted Apple support and a lady attmpted to help me but failed to resolve my problem and suggested I take it in to be looked at by a technician. So before taking it in, I reserached the problem myself and found out that certain Macbook pro models had been reported as having some problems with the screen and that Apple was offering a Macbook pro repair extension program to affected consumers until 31 December 2016 or Four years from the original date of Sale of your laptop.

I immediately suspected that this was the issue with my laptop as I had taken very good care of it and given that it was just a year and 2 months old I would expect Apple to grant this discretion as I had just gotten out of warranty. Alas to my surprise when I took it in to be checked by a technician at the Canal Walk istore, they were not helpful at all and denied to apply this repair program to my case. Now the shady part was that they wouldn't explain to me what they had found wrong with my Macbook Pro regardless of me enquiring numerous times for a breakdown of what was faulty

To me it just seemed like they were refusing to take responsibility for a faulty product and for their negligence in manufacturing a good quality product. If the damage was truly due to my ill handling of the laptop wouldn't they have explained to me in detail what they found wrong with the screen ? but instead they witheld this information from me and charged me a ridiculous quote for replacing the entire screen.

I have now escalated the issue with Apple and clearly sated how what I experinced with my Macbook Pro completely matches the description of the products affected as stated on their website (see link below) and I will see to it that a proper expalnation is provided to me as to why they would refuse to repair my laptop when it entirely fits the criteria of their affected models. I am very disappointed in Apple and I hope word gets out there of how they have failed me when I have spent so much money investing in their products.

https://www.apple.com/support/macbookpro-videoissues/

Disappointed Apple consumer :(
