iWatch ****

<p>I purchased an iWatch series 2(42mm) from the online iStore for about R7600 and received it in early December 2016. I then ordered the only screen protector available for this watch from the online iStore and only started regularly wearing the watch after applying this to the watch. I wanted to monitor my swimming in my pool at home and the series 2 iWatch is apparently capable of doing this. During a swim on 25 December 2016 I noticed the watch had stopped working and a crack had appeared on the screen. This was without me having physically damaged the watch in any way. I immediately removed it from the water and dried it as best that I could. I then returned it to iStore Canal Walk and they sent it to iCore for an assessment. iCore declared the watch irrepairable and asked me to pay the full price (i.e more than R5000) to replace this unit. I refused to do this as I did not physically damage the watch. iCore has returned the unit to the store. I contacted Apple customer service who promised to assist but now do not even respond to my emails. I am disgusted with the iStore, iCore and Apple group for their arrogance and will never promote their products to anyone again. Please do not purchase an iWatch as it seems to be a flimsy product and is impossible to repair if it ever gets damaged. </p>
