Istore repair service
Please be aware that if you hand in your device at iStore for repairs, even if under warranty, that there are charges. We handed in my daughter's laptop and had to pay R600 for it to be fault assessed/diagnosed. She was told it is under warranty still. She was not told they will be emailing her with a quote for repairs. They emailed her with a quote - the email landed in spam - and she therefore did not reply on the quote. They sent the laptop back to the PE branch and when she collected it, thinking it was repaired, found that they had done nothing to repair it. We had to again pay R600 to have it assessed. We changed the email to my email address and yes - it landed it spam. If I wasn't aware that I was going to receive an email, I would not have found it. At least they could have given us a phone call when we didn't respond on the quote. Who will pay R600 to have a laptop, which is under warranty, be fault assessed and do not pay to have it repaired? the quote was for R550. And the service person just shrugged his shoulders - we should have rep**** on the email.
