iStore - Misleading and dishonest

I am an extremely unhappy and frustrated customer. I’ve been using Apple products for the last 10 years, but this is my first direct dealings with iStore, and I must be honest, it was horrible.

I was due for an upgrade on my Cell C contract, and since Cell C did not have as good deals on offer as Vodacom, I decided to apply via the Istore web site. I did the application, submitted the documents and within a day received a Vodacom email saying Vetting application approved – I was impressed!

Thereafter however it just went downhill. The iStore agent, Sandya Ajudhiya who contacted me does not give me any feedback or keep me posted. Have to chase her day after day. After I ported my number myself, she asked me to sign Vodacom papers and pay R250.00 to iStore, then she can ship my handset to closest iStore, which I did immediately!

Now on the following Monday, she emailed me all of the sudden (it is by now 24/05/2021) that my contract was in fact not approved, Vodacom want a credit report. I should phone a company I never heard of, give them ALL MY PERSONAL INFORMATION to get the report, and then send it to her!!?? I mailed, her said I am not convertible with that, then she should rather cancel the contract – GUESS WHAT, no feedback!

So in a nutshell –

1. I cancelled my Cell C contract after iStore agent urged me to do so – my Vodacom contract has been Approved (have emails to proof this) – now I am sitting on prepaid without any contract. 2. At this stage I do not know if I have a Vodacom contract or not, as iStore agent is not giving me any feedback or replies to queries. 3. After I had to port my number myself, she asked me to pay iStore a fee for registering the contract. Which I did (have emails to proof this). 4. Then all of a sudden it was actually not approved and she want me to contact a third party company, who need ALL MY DETAILS, to get a credit report.

Attached is a point by point list of our dealings with Sandhya dis far. I will post this on all social platforms as well, hoping to prevent other people being doped. I wonder how many R250’s istore is collecting for false service.
