iStore Menlyn - Very poor service!!!
I wonder if it is Apple Headquarters directive or it is just a complete **** driven by the "Resellers" at iStores! Recently I took my iPhone 12 Pro Max that is in excellent physical condition with neither falling dents nor scratches. It is heating up and giving a temperature warning upon charging and so I took it into Menlyn iStore for assessment. Even though there was no specified problem since the phone could not be assessed without being switched on, the guy that was attending me still gave a quote of R30K to fix the phone. He went on to be the "Reseller" that he is by suggesting that I rather purchase another phone! The same happened when I took my Macbook to the same store last year! It's like they have a policy to "try by all means necessary" to have customers buying a new device as a first option. When I asked him how much it would cost to repair an iPhone 13, 14, 15 and 16 if a 12 is R30k, he said a 13 would be about R39k and a 16 would be around R45k. This is ridiculous at its best! They know very well that no one would pay R30k to repair a phone, but rather they would prefer to purchase a new one! That is ****ming the customers, hence I'm wondering if the Apple Headquarters are aware of such ********* conduct! If was to advise anybody, it would be for them to stay away from Apple devices because after 2 and a half years, they just fail!
