Istore Cresta Upgrade Debacle

Today(22 Feb 2021) I spent more than 2 1/2 hours to unsuccessfully do a #Telkom upgrade(not a new contract, just an upgrade) at Istore Cresta. After I was on the waiting list for a month and half for a new iPhone 12 Pro, I received an sms to collect my phone. First problem, it was not the colour I ordered. Fearing to wait another month, I accepted the phone anyway. After going through the upgrade process, I was told my biometric fingerprints do not match that of home affairs. I can therefore not upgrade my contract, that I took out at the exact same Istore 2 years prior. I was told I need to go to home affairs and fix my fingerprints first. Funny thing is, I was at a Telkom store 2 weeks prior(for a prepaid sim card), they did biometric fingerprint verification, I had no issues. At Istore today, no staff member seemed interested in finding a solution for this error. I was told to come back after home affairs fixed it. After I put my name on a new waiting list that is...I DO NOT THINK SO

The sad news is that the debacle continues.... 2 weeks since my failed upgrade attempt, I receive an invoice from Telkom with my new contract premium and device invoice... Surprised, yes.. as I did not receive a device and the upgrade was unsuccessful. I had to go back to Cresta Istore yesterday(11 Mar 2021). They told me they would cancel the upgrade and reinstate my contract to what it was before the failed upgrade. Another lie. Next day... The upgrade was cancelled but now I am on prepaid. No voice minutes or data. They cancelled my contract completely, after I was specifically promised to be reinstated to what it was before. When will this torture end ISTORE???? Now I need to visit Cresta Istore for the 3rd time....
