iStore - Advertising gift voucher & no allocation thereof

I've upgraded on Black Friday to a new iPhone XS Max. To my knowledge, I was supposed to get an R1500 gift voucher if I upgraded over that weekend. I was told that I'm not eligible for the voucher because it is only for the iPhone XS.

My friend upgraded on the Sunday (25 Nov 2018) to the exact same iPhone I upgraded to and received his R1500 gift voucher. When I phoned the iStore to confirm how this works, I was told that the R1500 gift voucher is only for iPhone XR as well as that my friend is trying to make me jealous and that he is lying about the R1500 he received. How strange that they give you a different story all the time.

Strangely he showed me his slips and the R1500 received as a gift voucher which he used to purchase a wireless charger.

Would be nice to see how iStore is going to explain the slip showing the R1500 gift voucher or they will have another excuse for the "****" slip from the iStore.

I was referred to iStore as they have better service but after this, I would rather just do my upgrades with Vodacom shops like in the past. I hope iStore would respond to this, but let's see if they are willing to respond.
