i Store Port Elizabeth

About 2 weeks ago, we as a group of parents contacted the i Store Port Elizabeth, for Bulk pricing on 15 or more i Pads for our children. At that stage the i Store had a specific i Pad on Promotion for R4999. After a lot begging, sending emails for some sort of discount on a quantity of 15 or more, we were told that the best they can do is less 4% off the R4999 for 15 or more i Pads. Apparently if you buy 5 or more i Pads you qualify for a 3% discount. We were also informed that this promotional price of R4999 will revert back to original price of R5499 and we must remember the 1% VAT increase on 1 April. That is why we as parents thought it a good idea, to see if you cannot get a good Bulk discount before the VAT increase. Offcourse then a lot of parents said you know what 4% is not going to make a difference, they rather buy at the end of year. However there were still 6 parents interested and we then went for less 3% option on 6 i Pads. So, we paid R4850. Not even 1 week later, the "supposed" promotional price was reduced from R4999 to R3999, VAT increase and all. When I queried this with the i Store Port Elizabeth, I was informed that they do not know what Head Office decides, after I asked them on numerous occasions to ask Head Office for a better price, I was told Head Office said 4% on R4999 and NO MORE! But yet less than a week later the price drops with R1000! Also, when some parents went to return the i Pads to the Port Elizabeth store they were informed that the i Stores return policy is 7 days from date of invoice. But yet, the Consumer Protection board says, legally a consumer has a 20 day "cool off" period? We are actually very disappointed as we thought we were sort of getting a good deal, and less than a week later price dropped by R1000. Also, how can they not know what their Head Office is doing? Also, if they have contacted their Head Office regarding better pricing on a bulk order, why did Head Office not give us the R4000 price? This is terrible, I suppose i Store Port Elizabeth does not have their customers interest at heart, and could not care less. Nobody went out of their way to really help us. So in this case the Supplier is happy and the customer very unhappy!
