Horrible Experience in the Centurion iStore shop
My Macbook itself was fixed in no time and the reliable notifications kept me in the loop all the way. Thank you for the quick and professional repairs. Sadly however, this is where the positive feedback ends.
I rated this a 1 star with the hope that somebody will actually read this and action it. My experience in the iStore shop however was disappointing to say the very least. On both the day I took my machine in for repairs and the day I fetched it. Walking into the store, staff would try and not make eye contact with customers. I looked around and could see several customers being upset because staff did not seem eager to assist at all.
There was a group (of staff members) sitting at one table. I walked up to them and greeted them (they don't greet you first and nearly nobody even looks up) and one lady (without looking up from her laptop) rep**** that she would help me as soon as she was done (with whatever she was busy with). There were no friendly smiles and no professionalism at all. When she did speak to me she mumbled and hardly spoke up. She was extremely miserable and it felt like she was doing me a huge favour booking my machine in for repairs.
I told myself that I might have caught the shop on an "off day" and that perhaps the experience would be different on the day of pickup. Unfortunately, the experience was exactly the same nearly a week later. A different person helping me (after walking up to them and asking them to help/assist again). While I was waiting for somebody to fetch and return the machine, I observed the staff that was in the shop as well as the customers walking in and it was obvious that the experience/service that I received was the norm. None of the customers that walked in would be greeted or assisted, they would have to effectively walk up to staff and almost beg them to help.
I believe my expectations of friendly professional staff stems from the incredible product that is the Apple Macbook Pro. One sort of expects that the support staff would resemble the brand and what the company stands for. I dread having to ever go back to iStore Centurion. I will probably look for another outlet, hoping that the experience will be better.
