Disgusting service

Dear iStore South Africa, I am very upset and saddened by you service. I've been the biggest brand ambassador for Apple you could ever hope to find in this country. I've had every single iPhone that's been released. Still saving up for the 7. I've had about 4 laptops over the past 10 years, two iMacs and a Macbook Air. I have the first iPad, the second iPad, the iPad Mini and iPad Mini 2. I have the very first iPod released, and the 4 after that. And I have the Apple watch. While I was in hospital, my 2010 Macbook Pro 15"'s battery expanded and cracked the entire trackpad. I was devastated. The machine looks brand new and it's as fast as any new mac out there now because I take care of my things. On Saturday, feeling terribly ill and crying from the pain, I went to the iStore at The Glen. I stood in a queue for over an hour before someone helped me. He typed in the serial number. Mumbled the words "it's vintage, Apple don't keep the parts anymore" and sent me on my way. I was furious. The sweat was running down my face from the pain and I asked the guy "so what do I do now?". He gave me the numbers in the screenshot and said that they would come to my house and fix my machine. I felt better, but I was so sore and so upset. I sat in my car and just started crying. I paid R30 000 for that machine, I had to pay it off over 3 years as I needed it to do my work and now I just have to throw it away? I called the numbers he gave me and the first lady thought I was completely off my mind for calling that number as they only do business Apple repairs. She also just said sorry, we can't help you. So I was basically left with one option, to throw away a R30 000 machine because two little parts that cost less than R3000 can not be tracked down by you. It's ridiculous and disgusting!! In tears I told a colleague the story and she gave me two numbers for two different guys that order and repair your mac, vintage or not. I gave him the mac Wednesday afternoon, he ordered the parts and today at lunch time I got it back. It works perfectly. All for only R3500. He went out of his way to help me. I am so disappointed at the way I was treated as an always loving and loyal customer. You just didn't care that I had a problem and expected me to pay R40 000 - R54 000 for a new (13") equivalent of my broken machine. Seriously? I am upset beyond words and I've told everyone the story and I will continue to do so. You owe me an apology, no, even more than just an apology. You don't realise that you are messing with people's emotions, lives... futures. I was in tears the whole Saturday and Sunday, so depressed and crying because I would never be able to afford a new machine, not for a very very long time. Apple, you have let me down and you have broken the loyalty I had for you.
