Disappointing iStore Client Service
Following my call to the iStore call centre, to ask for available stock at the Somerset West branch - I deliberately asked for the call centre to check for stock as I would need to drive out of my way after work and had limited time to purchase a machine. Nonetheless, there was no stock on the floor and the consultant's 'you-cant-afford-apple' attitude did not help much. While still over my budget, I purchased a more costly Mac as my business required it. I really think iStore could have handled my interest better, or at least tried to provide me with alternative options or other payment options - although I paid cash. I was about to walk out to a competitor store purely for the lack of service interest, expertise or 'sales spirit' displayed. As well as communication between the call centre and the actual stores: the inconvenience had me thinking twice about whether it's worth purchasing directly from iStore or elsewhere. I really hope Apple considers it's staff training and customer-staff relations. I was a cash paying customer who could have been lost - if my circumstances panned out differently. From a sales longevity perspective, it can become an impactful problem.
