Brooklyn iStore - Disappointing Rejection

After obtaining the required documents as requested by the iStore team I went to the store to start my application process. I have to admit that it was an hour or two before closing time. That being said, I did not even get that far because after inspecting my paperwork, they bluntly rejected my banking statements because it did not have an original bank stamp. Now the funny issue is that the day before I opened an account for my son at a different iStore using the same banking statement without any issues. I asked for the manager and he (Kagelo) told me that he cannot speak for other iStores but the Brooklyn iStore does not accept statements without the original Bank stamps. I asked for the owners details but he was giving me a silly email address which was clearly a general mail which was going nowhere. I raised my disappointment and left. I stopped at the Brooklyn Vodashop where they assisted with the same paperwork which the iStore rejected. Now I understand that every business owner has the right to implement the process that he/she feels comfortable with, but in my view this is just ridiculous and he/she is loosing customers because of it. The process with the ISP’s to obtain a phone is more complicated than buying a car or house and I am sure the bank statement is not the only vetting process built-in. The paperwork and queues are frustrating but yet the people seem to accept it as normal. Well maybe I expect more in this day and age. They technology is making it easier, but yet people always find a way to over complicate a process. In my view Brooklyn iStore is a store I will not support. If you are getting an iPhone or Apple device on contract, look at the contract you are interested in and go to the provider of that contract, they are better positioned to assist properly in anyway.
