Bad experience

I am a first time iPhone user. Since yesterday morning my iPhone was malfunctioning so I went to the iStore in Centurion Mall to determine the problem at approximately 13:00. One of the staff members approached me and then I explain the problem I'm having with my iPhone. He (the consultant) adviced me then that my phone is still under warranty and that it is a common problem with the last iOS update and that one of the technicians will inspect my iPhone to determine what exactly is faulty. The consultant made a booking for me at 16:30 with one of the technicians - without informing me that just inspecting the phone will cost a service fee of R200, while I was under the impression that since the phone is under warranty that the inspection would be free of charge. As I arrive at 16:25 for my booking the technician counter was busy, so I waited for 16:30. While one of the technicians were busy assisting an other client, he asked me what he can help me with. I explained in short what the glitch was. The technician then informed me that before he will touch my phone I needed to pay a service fee of R200. When I inquired as to why this would be the case and that I was not aware of this cost and having had to return to the store hours after I initially visited them, he simply told me that he refuses to work on the phone until I payed the service fee. This happened in front of customers and the staff embarrassed me in front of them to an extent where I felt like crying when I started noticing other customers laughing and shaking their heads at what was going on. To spare myself from further embarrassment I just agreed to pay the cost, even though I still feel I was treated unfairly. After agreeing to pay I was forced to sign a disclaimer that releases them from any liability of loss, should my phone incur any damage while in their care - which makes no sense to me since they are a licensed Apple representative. In any case, the technician then inspected my phone and it turns out that the problem was simply an outdated iOS which I could have just updated myself. He further told me that I needed to do a backup of my phone. (Being brand new to iPhone) I asked him to explain to me how the backup process works to which he again was unwilling to help me and very irritated started packing his things away and that I have to buy extra iCloud storage. When I asked him about that he grew increasingly irritated with me until I decided to rather just stop asking questions and I left. Afterwards this thing started bothering me more and more as this was the first experience I had with iPhone/ Apple's after care service and I was shocked at how dismissive they were to me as a customer and especially as a first time user. I have never been treated like this when I was still using a Samsung phone and only made the switch because so many of my friends and family advised me to switch to the iPhone. The bitter taste that this bad experience has left in my mouth will make it very difficult for me to choose iPhone again with my next upgrade. In fact, despite the phone being everything people promised me, I regret making the switch over simply because of the horrible experience I had at the Centurion Mall iStore.
